Coaching with Karana

Tanya Backhouse is again the Club's Coaching Coordinator for 2012.  Tanya will ensure that all coaches both junior and senior have access to all the appropriate information, equipment and other resources which will enable them to fulfil their coaching roles.  Coaches should also contact Tanya on 0438 730141 for information on teams, training allocations and if they need to cancel a training timeslot.

Once players reach the age of 15 they are encouraged to develop skills that would enable them to umpire and coach. It is not expected that inexperienced players should do this on their own. We have developed a buddy scheme whereby young coaches are paired with more experienced club members to teach them the necessary skills. Girls are encouraged to undertake accredited courses.

A prerequisite for all accredited courses is the Beginning Coaching General Principles online course. There is no cost to complete this course.

If you need help with specific skills or drills or for information on any aspect of coaching please contact us.
